Senatorial aspirant Ademola Adeleke dumps APC for PDP

All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant in the Osun-West senatorial district, Chief Ademola Adeleke, has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his bid to contest for state's the July 8 senatorial by-election.

Adeleke had only just been cleared by the APC's screening committee on June 12 to contest the July 8 election under the banner of the party.
The brother of the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke is believed to have had a problem with the party after the party's National Working Committee cleared his only opponent, Mudasiru Hussein, to contest against hi  after he had been disqualified by the screening committee led by Hon. Sanusi Rikiji.
He stated this in the resignation letter he addressed to the party's leadership dated June 13, 2017.

Mr. Hussein had been disqualified by the committee on the grounds that he did not resign within the period stipulated by party's guidelines, which states that a candidate must not "remain in the public service within 30 days prior to an election."
